Crop dosing single birds:
To ensure that an accurate dose is given, birds should be crop dosed only by a veterinarian or an informed person as it could be fatal if done incorrectly.
· Mix 5 gram (1 level scoop (included)) of Mediworm powder with 20 ml of water to form a suspension.
· Dose 2 ml of this suspension per 100 g bodyweight, on an empty crop.
· Recommended total dose of the suspension per bird:
Zebra finch 0.4ml Ringnecks 2ml
Canary 0.6ml Cocatoos 8-10ml
Budgerigar 0.75ml African Grey 10ml
Lovebirds 1ml Molucan Cockatoo 15ml
Cockatiel 1.5ml Macaws 15-20ml
Repeat treatment after 14 days and thereafter twice per year.
Treatment of Aviaries:
Mediworm medicated food should be left out for the entire day, and no other food must be fed. Discard unconsumed food daily.
Percentage of food basis:
Mix 5 g of Mediworm powder with 20 ml of water and mix this evenly with 100 g of soft food or seed.
Sufficient medicated food should be available all day.
Weight per bird basis:
For use where pairs are housed individually or where the total body weight is unknown.
Determine total weight of the birds in aviary.
Mix 5 g of Mediworm powder with 20 ml of water to form a suspension.
Add 2 ml of the suspension per 100 g of bird’s bodyweight in the aviary, to the amount of food that the birds normally consume per day, e.g. if the total bodyweight of birds in the aviary is 1 kg, mix 20 ml of the suspension evenly into the day’s food.
Mediworm powder is not water-soluble.
Store in a cool dry place below 25°C.
Keep container tighly closed.
Keep out of reach of children an uninformed persons.
