Beautiful but not entirely functional

I bought this post entirely for aesthetic reasons and for the specific dimensions, unfortunately my adult cat only likes the hideaway since she is too big to fit on the top and doesn’t use the scratch post at all. However, the kitten uses the post when I place him there but he doesn't stay there as it’s also a small platform so he falls off. And because there’s no material on the base of that platform, it is too slippery, so, when he jumps he slides oof. So, he doesn’t use the post at all unless placed there. It’s unfortunate as it’s such a beautiful post and that is what I was looking for but it’s not functional, unfortunately. I’m hoping when the kitten grows, he will climb up instead of jumping and maybe use the post with his hind legs on the floor and front paws on the scratcher. But I doubt it. Right now it serves as a beautiful furniture piece with the occasional sleeping/hideaway spot.
