StarPet has done it again! Their recent announcement of the August competition results were cause for celebration at PitPals animal shelter in Cape Town. An incredible R25 000 was raised which will go a long way in helping Pit Pals provide for their animals in their care!
PitPals is a wonderful organisation that rescues and rehomes Pit Bulls. These dogs can make the most loyal and loveable family pets when socialised, trained and cared for correctly and this organisation specialises in educating and helping people understand this misunderstood breed.
The StarPet competition raises funds for a new animal welfare organisation every month (50% of profits go to an animal charity), selected by the previous month’s winner. This means that entering not only helps raise funds, but if you’re a winner, you also get to choose your favourite organisation to be a recipient.
For you and your pet, each month there is R22,500 in prizes up for grabs, which includes shopping vouchers to spoil your pet at Absolute Pets.
The competition is for anybody who wants to showcase their precious furry, fluffy, feathered or even scaly bestie while doing some good in the process. Not only cats and dogs are welcome - we’ve seen bunnies, hamsters, horses and even geckos walk away with prizes!
Plus, it’s not only those with the most votes who win – the charity also gets to pick their top 3 favourites, and from there the StarPet team chooses one StarPick of the month, with 24 runners up who each receive a little surprise from Absolute Pets.
