What happens when over 1,000 pet lovers, 800 dogs and a community passionate about animal welfare come together for one day?
R188,525 raised for animals awaiting loving homes at the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.
On Sunday, 20 September, Green Point Park came alive as pet parents and their dogs gathered for the Woefie Wandel Dog Walk & Pet Fair, proudly sponsored by Absolute Pets. From the moment the first walkers arrived to the final prize draw, the park was filled with wagging tails, excited faces and a shared commitment to making a difference.
With 1,080 participants and 802 dogs taking part, this year's event proved just how powerful a community of pet parents can be. Every ticket purchased helped raise critical funds for animals receiving care, treatment and shelter while they wait for their forever families.
But Woefie Wandel was about more than just the walk.
Pet parents explored brand activations, enjoyed delicious food, snapped memories at the photobooth and found plenty of spoils at the Absolute Pets Pop-Up Shop while their dogs enjoyed pampering at the Pet Spa.
The day was packed with activity, ranging from training demonstrations, spot prizes and crowd-favourite competitions. There were winners for the Happiest Dog and Best Lookalike to the grand winner of Mutt of the Year – the dog and pet parent that will be the face of the next event.
The popular VIPP experience was also a highlight, with pet parents receiving goodie bags valued at over R1,500, packed with products from some of the industry's leading pet care brands.
