As you know, every year we celebrate and honour Mandela Day (18 July) with an initiative to support animal welfare.
Now, more than ever, they need as much support as they can get. So this year, we are helping raise much-needed funds for 30 animal welfare organisations around the country and invite you to join us in helping those pets in need.
How you can get involved helping animals in need:
We’ve made it as easy as possible for anyone to participate. Whether you are shopping in store or Online, from the 1st to the 18th of July you can add as little as R10 to your purchase and this will be donated to one of the 30 organisations we are supporting.
R10 may seem like a little but every little bit adds up. You can also increase your donation in multiples of R10 so it’s up to you if you want to donate more.
How it works - shopping in store:
We have put our stores into groups and each group is supporting a different organisation. Therefore, any donations made at each group of stores will go to their chosen organisation. This way, the selected organisations will receive a substantial donation coming from a few stores and not just one. When you are ready to pay for your purchase, you simply ask the Pet Care Advisor to add a donation. This will add R10 to your purchase. If you wish to donate more, just let them know how much.
How it works - shopping Online:
Our Online store is supporting one organisation, WOOF Project. If you are shopping Online you simply select the WOOF Project logo and add it to your cart. This will add R10 to your purchase. Once again, you can increase the amount you want to donate by simply increasing the quantity when you add it to your cart.
Absolute Pets will donate pet food!
As soon as a store reaches R1 000 in donations, Absolute Pets will match that in the form of R1 000 worth of pet food for the animal welfare organisation that store is supporting. Therefore, the more donations we receive the greater the chance of each store reaching R1 000 and each organisation receiving additional pet food donations.
This gives these 30 organisations the opportunity to receive cash donations as well as food donations and hopefully make a significant difference to the lives of the animals in their care.
